Overview
The lesson take place at our premsies from Monday to Friday in two blocks from 09.00 a.m. until 01.00 p.m.hour and then continue the afternoon from 01.30 p.m. hours until 05:30 p.m. of which one of these blocks is practical training time under supervision of our specialist staff.
The school is closed on public holidays and during the official school breaks.
The length of the training is 6 Semesters; 3 years. Shorter courses; 3 months onwards, are available at at our school in Cape Town, South Africa. For more detailed information please write us.
In the 1st and 2nd months every participant recieves the basic materials for thier education and for their later professional life. The basic materials are supplied, however, for individual projects and for the theoretical lesson there are additional charges.
There is no entrance examination as we do not belive a short sample assessment is suitable when justifying a decision about your professional life. By means of a personal interview we try to assess whether your interest (and your sufficing ambition) are there for the education. Within the first three months you, as well as the school, have the right to resign from your contract. Thereafter at the end of the semester month
As you will be learing a profession which you will be later using in film and theatre.
In your interest, we must insist on punctuality and studying discipline both schools offer a special chance of gaining practical experience not only in make-up artist school itself, but also in productions with drama schools, offstage theatres, fashion shows and other related projects. Furthermore practical experience in dealing with actors in regular television series, is gained in cooperation with, for example, the team "DFFB" (German Film and TV Union) and the film university in Babelsberg, Germany.
Perhaps you will also have the possibility to take part in a film with Hasso of Hugo or his team.
The contents of the profession are conveyed in a three-year training period. The examinations are checked by the examination commission of the Mephisto Make-up Artist School. On request, the final examination can be done at the IHK Berlin (Berlin Chamber of Trade and Commerce). This examination must be paid for separately.
